Walking in Warrenton

I recently gifted a couple of sessions for Christmas through my Facebook page and one of the entries was Dave. He had posted that he would like to receive a gifted family session so that he and his wife, Michelle, could have family photos with all three of their children while their oldest daughter was home from college for the holidays. When I announced that he was one of the recipients of a gifted session, we quickly worked to coordinate a date, time and location that would work to get their family session completed before their daughter headed back off to college.

Our session was scheduled for Tuesday, in a beautiful park in North Fauquier County, but the weather has been gloomy here lately and I was concerned about how wet the grounds were. So I went to check out the conditions and found a completely muddy mess! The ground was saturated - I'm talking mud pie perfect. But, the last thing I wanted to do was to ask this sweet family to plop down in mud puddles for their family photos! So, we moved to Plan B and instead did a "walking shoot" in Old Town Warrenton. And, it turned out to be gray skies and hazy but perfect for their wardrobe choices and their family. Warrenton is their hometown so it "fit" and they provided great smiles, laughter and super easy-going personalities. Judging from their sense of humor and fun-loving spirit, they may have even enjoyed a mud pie session at the park - but I'm glad we ended up in Warrenton because we were able to catch some pretty cool old buildings, stone walls, wood doors and other architectural elements of old southern town charm in the images of their beautiful family.
